The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has just announced the 2008 community spouse resource allowances (CSRA) and the maximum monthly maintenance needs allowance.

The new minimum CSRA is $20,880 and the new maximum is $104,400. The new maximum monthly maintenance needs allowance is $2,610. The minimum monthly maintenance needs allowance remains $1,711.25 until July 1, 2008.

The new figures are effective January 1, 2008, and reflect an increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 2.8 percent from September 2006 to September 2007.
